David Shipman is the Litigation Partner at Willett & Co Solicitors, bringing over 50 years of legal experience to the firm. He specialises in a wide range of dispute resolution matters, including criminal defence, employment law, personal injury claims, and advocacy in court.

Educated at Lancing College in Sussex, David began his professional career in the wine trade before qualifying as a Solicitor in 1971. He gained valuable legal experience in Cambridge and Ipswich, and joined Willett & Co Solicitors in 1982, becoming a partner in 1985. David has since earned a strong reputation as a trusted and highly experienced litigation solicitor in Bury St Edmunds and across Suffolk.

David is a member of the Law Society and is well known for his practical, results-driven approach to resolving disputes. He advises both individuals and businesses with a focus on clear communication, strategic insight, and strong representation in court.

The group also organises PSA testing events, raises funds for local charities, and contributes to the purchase of medical equipment at Ipswich Hospital.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, David enjoys sailing, music (as a member of two choirs), wildlife conservation, and sports. He is a passionate supporter of Ipswich Town Football Club, where he is a season ticket holder and shareholder.
