Willett & Co Proudly Supports the Gissing Classic Cars and Open Gardens Event – June 2025

We were delighted to lend our support to this year’s Gissing Classic Cars and Open Gardens Event, a charming and much-loved community occasion that took place in the picturesque village of Gissing in June 2025. Willett & Co were pleased to advertise in the event programme, and we are thrilled to share in the success of what proved to be a truly memorable weekend.

The event attracted over 90 classic car owners, alongside hundreds of visitors keen to explore a diverse and beautiful selection of local gardens. In total, more than £4,000 was raised in aid of The Heart of Gissing, a community charity that supports the running and maintenance of the Gissing Community Building and its many local groups and activities.

Celebrating Community, Heritage, and Horticulture

In addition to the impressive display of historic vehicles, around 10 gardens opened their gates to visitors, offering a glimpse into a wide variety of horticultural styles and designs. These included:

  • The cutting garden of a local professional florist and flower grower

  • The community orchard

  • A restoration project of a small area of common land, lovingly managed by local volunteers

  • A creative display of specially planted wheelbarrows dotted around the village

Adding to the enjoyment was a lively hub at the Community Building, where guests could browse craft and plant stalls or enjoy refreshments including BBQ fare and pre-booked picnic lunches. Entry to the Open Gardens was just £5 per adult, with children attending for free — making it a welcoming and inclusive event for all ages.
